Your Readabit.in Membership will become active from the day of first delivery/pickup of books after the confirmation of your payment

Following Terms of Use and Conditions govern our site (′the website′) and any other related products or services (′the service′). By using the website, you agree to these terms of use, if you do not agree to these terms of use you may not use the website or the service. In these Terms of Use, ′you′, ′your′ or ′user′ means any person or entity using the Website or the Service. ′READABIT.IN^TM′, ′we′ or ′our′ will refer to READABIT.IN^TM or Akshara Reading Habit (OPC) Pvt Ltd.

How READABIT.IN^TM service works

READABIT.IN^TM is an online subscription based rental service that allows its members to rent books through its website located at https://readabit.in. After completion of online registration by a member He/she can then browse/search books he/she would like to read, and add them to his/her virtual Bookrack (My Bookrack). Number and value of Books will be subject to the plan opted by the member.

Life Time

For Rs.1,00,000 onetime payment one can avail Unlimited deliveries of up to Rs.2,000 worth of books per delivery for life time and every year one can suggest up to Rs.12,000 worth of books of their choice subject to the conditions mentioned under Suggest your Book below. Those who want to receive books of higher value every year they can opt for by paying in Multiples of Rs.1,00,000 and respectively the value of delivery will be calculated.

Limited & Unlimited

Once payment has been received the first set of books will be delivered to the member at the shipping address provided at the time of registration. The number and value of books delivered at a time by READABIT.IN^TM is as per his/her Subscription plan. Once a member is done with the first set of books, he/she can opt for next delivery for the books allocated in their respective Bookrack and the delivery will happen against the return of the first set of books taken earlier and It will be processed within 2 to 5 working days. Your READABIT.IN^TM membership will continue in effect unless you cancel your membership or we terminate it. You must cancel your membership before it renews each month in order to avoid billing of the next month's membership fees to your Payment Method. We will bill the membership fee plus any applicable tax to the Payment Method you provide to us during registration (or to a different Payment Method if you change your account information).

Lend

Members can opt for this when they can personally come and pick up the books from our Library at Madurai.

Individual Book Rental (Single Plan)

Those who read rarely or only latest books can opt for this and it has got both self-service and delivery. In case of Delivery Rs.6/km is charged upto 20 kms and beyond that 2 way courier charges will be applied. Free delivery is available for books with MRP which is and above Rs.1000 and the rental paid is and above Rs.300

On receipt of Primary Amount for the books selected, member will be delivered with the book from 2 business days to 5 business days. If an item is out of stock and we cannot source another one for you then you will be notified via email in 72 hours and refunded with your money for Individual Book Renting. If an item is out of stock, yet we are able to source the book you will be notified as to the delay in shipment time. You may at this point cancel your order if you wish before the item is prepared for delivery. You may request cancelation through the contact us section of the website.

Multiple Product Orders (Single Plan)

We endeavour to send out your books as one order. However, if you order multiple books you may receive the books separately, products that are unavailable at the time of shipment will be shipped as they become available, unless cancelled.

My Bookrack

Books that you select to rent will be placed under "My Bookrack". You may add books or request the sequence of books you want to receive by communicating to us. You must have at least 15 books in your Bookrack. Click the "My Bookrack" tab to make adjustments, review requested books or to see which books you currently have. We will determine which books to send you based on the books in your Bookrack and the priority in which you have listed them. We endeavour to deliver the books listed highest in your Bookrack; however, when availability is limited, we may ship you books lower in your Bookrack. Adjustments made to your Bookrack may not immediately impact your next delivery. In certain instances, you may have adjusted your Bookrack before you have received a delivery message when in fact a delivery was already processed. The adjustments will, however, impact subsequent deliveries.

Suggest your Book

This applies for LIFE TIME, LIMITED, UNLIMITED, SINGLE and LEND customers only. Value of book one can suggest will vary from Rs.200 to Rs.300 depends upon the number of months subscribed (for 3 months it will be Rs.200 worth of books per subscribed month and for 6 months Rs.250 and for 12 Rs.300)and it will be limited to one book per month for Limited, Unlimited and Lend customers. 3 to 12 Books has to be suggested within 15 days from the date of subscription and the books will be arranged based on the availability in the market. On availability the members will be informed and the suggested books will be kept for 15 days before lending it to other members. In case of SINGLE Plan members the suggested books minimum rental will be charged from 30% to 50% of MRP.

Books suggested should be common books which can be read by most of the members such as Fiction, Non Fiction, Self-help and should not be purely academic or the one will loose its validity in a short period such as 2 to 5 years or less.

Use of the Book

READABIT.IN^TM allows you to read but not to write in the book, we ask you to be considerate of other users who will use the book in the future.

Please see damages and losses (below) for more information.

Damages and Losses

If we are unable to rent out the book again due to unreasonable damage then you will be charged the remainder of the maximum retail price (MRP) quoted on our website. In this circumstance you will be able to keep the book.

The following constitutes damages to a book that may result in it being unusable:

• Highlighting
  
• Writing in Pen, or writing of any form
  
• Missing pages
  
• Missing covers
  
• Water damage
  
• Stains
  
• Tears
  
• Missing text

If you lose the book, please contact us here. In this event you will be charged the remainder of the retail price quoted on our website.

In the event of ‘damages’ or ‘loss’ of the book READABIT.IN^TM has the right to charge your security deposit or credit card for the remainder of the recommended retail price. You will be communicated via email or via telephone before this occu₹

Delivery

READABIT.IN^TM offers free delivery for orders over ₹300 for individual book renting India-wide as well as express delivery in most states, to serviceable areas only as per the serviced city list. Areas outside of the serviceable area will incur additional fees. We also provide free Return, you can also come into our office within Madurai to pick up and drop off your books for free.

Once you have ordered your books, you will receive a confirmation of your order. You will then receive your books in a minimum of 1-2 business days for Madurai and 2-4 business days for other places if it's in stock or 3-9 business days if we need to order it.

Please note that our guarantee is on the book title, not book copy. That is, if you request for a particular book, we will send you the copy that is currently in stock. This may or may not correspond with the publisher, book image or publishing date that you have selected. If you wish to only be delivered the book copy that you have selected, please send an email to our customer service. This will however, lower the probability of you getting the books and the Primary Amount and the rental structure may change based on it.

Conditions of delivery:

• Upon delivery you are required to sign a receipt for the book and a short agreement for the terms of using the book. If you are not there you will need to get someone else to sign on your behalf.
  
• Once you receive the book, you are responsible for its care.
  
• If you provide us an incorrect address and the package is returned to us, you will be responsible for paying ₹100 - ₹ 250 for a re-delivery fee as charged by the logistics service provider.

Refunds

You may receive a refund for the total amount if any of the following occur:

• You cancel the order before confirmation or before shipping
  
• The book is delivered to you in an unusable condition (the usability of the book is to be determined at the discretion of READABIT.IN^TM)
  
• 
  
• READABIT.IN^TM does not take any responsibility, or provide refunds for:
  
• Late delivery time, and any direct or indirect loss due to this
  
• Incorrect prices on the system (refer to third party involvement)
  
• READABIT.IN^TM does not guarantee the inclusion or quality of items such as CDs, handbooks and user codes or any other packaged/ bulk items.
  
• READABIT.IN^TM will not refund or exchange Access Codes or any other software.
  
• The book is returned in an unsaleable condition (includes any damage to the book at the discretion of READABIT.IN^TM).
  
• Request for refunds or exchanges after 14 days of the order date (if your order is on back-order, we generally extend this refund or exchanges period from the date we dispatch the books out to you).

Changes

READABIT.IN^TM has the right to change or modify our Terms of Use, which is effective upon its posting to the READABIT.IN^TM website. Through the use of the website and orour services you agree to be bound to these changes after the modifications have been up loaded. Therefore, it is up to you to check our terms of use upon your use of our website and or services so that you are aware of any changes made.

Entire Agreement

These Terms of Use, including any other documents referred to in these terms or any other terms and conditions provided to you via the use of our Website or Service are the entire agreement between you and READABIT.IN^TM regarding the Website and the Service. These conditions will supersede any terms and / or conditions you include with any purchase order regardless of whether READABIT.IN^TM signs them or not.

Description of Service

‘Service’ refers to an online service, in which User can rent books from READABIT.IN^TM for a predetermined period of time (delivered by Akshara Reading Habit (OPC) pvt ltd or a third party) and where the user can donateREADABIT.IN^TMtheir used books and earn points (given that READABIT.IN^TM agrees the condition of the book).

How READABIT.IN^TM service works

My Bookrack

Books that you select to rent will be placed into your Bookrack. You may add books or adjust the sequence of books in the Bookrack at any time. You must have at least 15 books in your Bookrack. Click the "My Bookrack" tab to make adjustments, review requested books or to see which books you currently have. We will determine which books to send you based on the books in your Bookrack and the priority in which you have listed them. We endeavour to deliver the books listed highest in your Bookrack; however, when availability is limited, we may ship you books lower in your Bookrack. Incertain instances, you may have adjusted your Bookrack before you have received a delivery message when in fact a delivery was already processed. The adjustments will, however, impact subsequent deliveries.

Automatic renewal:

Your READABIT.IN^TM subscription will be automatically renewed on a monthly basis. We will bill the monthly subscription fee plus any applicable tax to the Payment Method you provide to us during registration (or to a different Payment Method if you change your account information). Your membership will automatically renew for successive monthly subscriptions, without prior notice to you, unless and until you cancel your membership or we terminate it. You must cancel your membership before it renews each month in order to avoid billing of the next month's subscription fees to your Payment Method.

FEES & BILLING

All-inclusive fees will be displayed upon check out of the READABIT.IN^TM Fees. There will be no hidden fees in addition to these. Upon check out Secure Payment Gateway, a third party, will store your credit card, debit card or Internet Banking and other mode of payment information, which will be encrypted and you hereby acknowledge and agree that READABIT.IN^TM may use this information to charge you for any lost, stolen or damaged books associated with your account. By using the service and the website you agree to the storing of your credit card, debit card or Internet Banking and other mode of payment information. You also agree to any additional charges as specified in these Terms of Use or on the website including damaged or lost books, unreturned books, auto- extensions and rented books. You agree that we may, at our sole discretion, send your account to a collection agency if you fail to pay all fees due and owing to READABIT.IN^TM. Provided you continue to be a paying member of our service, you may keep the book(s) delivered to you as long as you like. You will be required to return the books within 5 days following any cancellation of the service or be subject to charge for unreturned book(s). Also, you may be charged for book(s) that you lose or damage. In the event that the number of lost book(s) on your account becomes excessive, as we may determine in our sole and absolute discretion, we will notify you that your account has been placed on hold for review and may charge your Payment Method for the estimated cost of the lost book(s). We will alert you of any potential charges prior to charging your Payment Method. All fees and charges are non-refundable and there are no refunds or credits for partially used periods.

By using the READABIT.IN^TM service, you are expressly agreeing that we are permitted to bill your subscription fee, any applicable taxes and any other charges you may incur in connection with your use of the READABIT.IN^TM service. Additional charges may include books you fail to return, or a billing plan change you request. As used in these Terms of Use, "billing" shall indicate either a charge or debit, as applicable, against your Payment Method. The subscription fee will be billed at the beginning of your subscription and on each subscription renewal thereafter unless you cancel your membership. We will automatically bill your Payment Method on the calendar day corresponding to the commencement of your membership.Changesin Membership Plans:

A member may change plans at any time. Upgrades in plans will only result in billing the difference of the plans. Downgrades in plans will affect the next billing cycle. No refunds for partial months of use will be credited. Future billing cycles will be billed at the new rate.

Cancellation:

You may cancel your subscription to READABIT.IN^TM at any time, and cancellation will be effective immediately. You reserve the right to cancel your account at any given time, pending the return of any outstanding payments and or books being rented from READABIT.IN^TM.

WE DO NOT PROVIDE REFUNDS OR CREDITS FOR ANY PARTIAL-MONTH SUBSCRIPTION PERIODS OR UNREAD BOOK(S). To cancel your membership, you need to call on our customer care numbers on 04524982196 and request the same to our customer care executive. Upon cancellation, you will be given 5 days to return any outstanding rentals. Failure to return such rentals will result in your Payment Method being billed for such items. READABIT.IN^TM reserves the right to terminate your membership for any or no reason.

Refund of Security Deposit:

In the event that your membership is cancelled, we will refund your security deposit after ensuring all outstanding charges applicable have been processed. We issue a bank cheque in the name of the member as appears at the time of registration within fifteen working days. The cheque will be couriered to the billing address as provided at the time of registration or as last appended prior to the commencement of your last billing cycle.

Special Offer:

Special offers, if any, are available only for first-time READABIT.IN^TM members, unless otherwise expressly stated in the offer.

Entertainment and third-party content:

We distribute books and we reserve the right to display and promote the information on our Website to you in any manner we choose in our sole and absolute discretion. In addition, the READABIT.IN^TM Website allows you and other third parties to post reviews or comments concerning the entertainment distributed by us. Any opinions, advice, statements, services, offers, or other information that constitutes part of the content expressed or made available by third parties on the READABIT.IN^TM Website are those of the respective authors and not of Akshara Reading Habit (OPC) Pvt Ltd, or its shareholders, directors, officers, or employees. Under no circumstances shall Akshara Reading Habit (OPC) Pvt Ltd, or its shareholders, directors, officers, or employees be held liable for any loss or damage caused by your reliance on information obtained through the READABIT.IN^TM Website. It is your responsibility to evaluate the information, opinion, advice, or other content available through the READABIT.IN^TM Website.

Reliance on Information:

This website may include inaccuracies or typographical errors that may be corrected as they are discovered at READABIT.IN^TM sole discretion.

Use of Information Submitted:
